*Being sick as I am sucks big time, especially when it's the third day in a row and you've had a hell of a project to hand in today and you have to stay in on a beautiful Friday night. However, you do have time to post on your blog and hearing that Jonquil cancelled tonight's concert @ la [2] makes you feel less miserable (sorry dude :P). Anyway, here's what I been listening to pretty obsesively lately. Pretty eclectic (how cool is this word?), as always, but I think it's one of my best playlists in ages (oh God, I'm on my way to recovery : P). Alright, I declare this March playlist open, so go enjoy it! Be good.

*So here you have three of EGWM's favourite Spanish artists. You probably have heard from them since they're pretty popular, but they make our first tasty Spanish potato omelette because they all have just released their latest effort. And guess what! They're all pretty damn good, so make sure to check them out as much as you make sure to write down a tiny comment saying how good, cool or stupid we are, or just saying "thank you". We appreciate it : )

Also, remember that they all will be soon visiting our beautiful, crowded wih locusts, Barcelona city. Iván Ferreiro will play Sala Bikini on April 4th and Lori Meyers will join Les Philippes to rock Sala Apolo on April 25th. As for Tachenko, they will appear on the forthcoming Primavera Sound festival. For more concerts check our calendar. Let the madness begin!

PD: I know, Tachenko's cover is UGLY

Well... as you can see, for this month the playlist is a little bit different than the other ones... Today I woke up and I took a shower listening one of my old cds: It was a mix of High-School Punk-Rock Bands that I used to listening when I was at High School. The best thing: After... I don't know... 5 years... 6 years... I WAS SINGING THE SONGS AND DANCING IN THE SHOWER! Then I thought: I want to make a playlist of this "old songs" and uploaded. And here it is: 10 songs that all of you PROBABLY know. :)

suburban kids with biblical names - loop duplicate my heart

And it's bigger than everything I have ever done before.

I've found a reason for staying home tonight.
Just by myself tonight.
All by myself.
I'm gonna loop duplicate my heart into a million songs.

I've found a reason for going out tonight.
I'm making out tonight...
with my computer.
I'm bringing guitars on hold and my multi-track on surround.

And is it really so?
So many interesting effects I wanna try.
I wanna try them all on you.

EGWM's favourite bands @ PS '08: Animal Collective

According to most critics and reviews, they're a must see at the upcoming Primavera Sound festival, which will take place at "El parc del Fòrum" from May 29th to May 31st. With only three shows in Spain (the other ones being in Málaga and Valladolid... how's that??), you certainly should at least give them a try. Their music is a bit hard to get into (long, bizarre songs full of exotic and surprising sounds which take you to some sort of parallel universe) but once you do, they really become more addictive than strawberry jam. With Animal Collective we start a series of posts here at EGWM which will try to introduce you, readers (and us, writers), to the bands that we think you shouldn't miss on this year's magnificient PS. Either because we love them or because we think / have read they're worth seeing. Who cares about that? Anyway, go check these musical animals! (oh, and comment if you like what you read / hear, please, we appreciate it ; )

a scoop of EGWM: Kevin Devine

Kevin Devine is an American songwriter and musician from Brooklyn, New York, who is known for alternately introspective and political lyrics and melodic acoustic guitar tunes. He cites his influences as Bob Dylan, Brother Paramo and Nirvana, among others. He grew up in Brooklyn and Staten Island, and has spent significant time in Manhattan and Queens as well. Devine cites this well-roundedness as the primary reason why at almost any given time he can determine his own location within one of the five boroughs without a problem. (from wikipedia)

Kevin Devine - Put Your Ghosts to Rest
  1. "Brooklyn Boy" – 3:30
  2. "You're Trailing Yourself" – 3:03
  3. "Just Stay" – 4:15
  4. "You'll Only End Up Joining Them" – 4:17
  5. "A Billion Bees" – 3:32
  6. "Less Yesterday, More Today" – 5:09
