** As you can see, it's time for a new playlist: this one, like a friend mine said to me, is a playlist to listen while you are eating a bowl of kellog's! hahaha. no, i'm joking. but isn't surrealist? a playlist to listen while you are eating a bowl of kellog's... which songs do i listen when i ate bowls of kellog's? dragon ball theme? dr. slump? mmm... probably a cartoons theme... haha. stop! no more stupid jokes. be serious for once!

this playlist is about girls. specifically about girl names. and there is no connection with my ex-girlfriends names or whatever you may think. only girl names. and for sure there are a lot of other songs with a girl name title. leave me a comment or send me an e-mail with more songs and i'll create a 2nd playlist. enjoy! **

"One beautiful April morning, on a narrow side street in Tokyo's fashionable Harujuku neighborhood, I walked past the 100% perfect girl.

Tell you the truth, she's not that good-looking. She doesn't stand out in any way. Her clothes are nothing special. The back of her hair is still bent out of shape from sleep. She isn't young, either - must be near thirty, not even close to a "girl," properly speaking. But still, I know from fifty yards away: She's the 100% perfect girl for me. The moment I see her, there's a rumbling in my chest, and my mouth is as dry as a desert." Haruki Murakami (more here)

friends of EGWM: drunken barn dance

Finally i have time to speak about this one-guy band and with him we will start a new section in EGWM: friends of EGWM.

He, Scott Sellwood, originary of California and member of one of the most important and well-know bands in Ann Arbor, MI, Saturday Looks Good To Me, has a great side-project called drunken barn dance. ("i really like this name for a band!" it's the first thing i thought while I was visiting him on thanksgiving 2007 in Ann Arbor). He is a great artist (and better men, be sure of that). Today I receive an e-mail from him telling me that "Drunken barn dance has a new ep and it's called: the first state, non-tour EP. This EP was recorded in his new house in Delaware, NJ and right now he is releasing them as a free digital-only.

He thinks he has a limit of only 100 downloads per song so... don't be late or you will lose a great free EP! If you like the free EP you can always ask him about the first record he made of drunken barn dance (you will have to send him a private message in his myspace and he will send it to you with a nice cover with elephants). I get the first record while I was in my USA trip last year and I remember listening the album while i was in the greyhound from Ann Arbor to Toronto, "what a great album!" i thought. The first album was recorded (if I'm not wrong) in the basement of his own house in Ann Arbor.

There is nothing more I can say about him and the band, just give it a try or, like we always say, if you don't like it, just drink a cup of earl grey with milk and everything will be fine

** like my blog friend said, we have been to busy to upload this small teablog but WTF. i left my work and things for a while and i prepared this playlist.. fresh new songs of new bands from usa. i hope you enjoy the playlist as much as i enjoy eating airheads and bazooka chewing gum (yeah, i know... you don't know what i'm talking about..) soon I'll post a new playlist, JUNE playlist, and it will be about girl names. just wait and download. **

"Instead of things I'm good at, it might be faster to list the things I can't do. I can't cook or clean the house. My room's a mess, and I'm always losing things. I love music, but I can't sing a note. I'm clumsy and can barely sew a stitch. My sense of direction is the pits, and I can't tell left from right half the time. When I get angry, I tend to break things. Plates and pencils, alarm clocks. Later on I regret it, but at the time I can't help myself. I have no money in the bank. I'm bashful for no reason, and I have hardly any friends to speak of." Haruki Murakami

* Dear reader, it's been a while. And we know it. Indeed, it's been a looong while, and those updates kind of try to make it up to you. The busy days are (almost) over and done for the season, busy days of school, concerts and Primavera Sound, which was mind-blowing as well as so much fun. Expect a review of it soon. In the meanwhile, here you have a teaser of what we liked most during the three-day festival as well as the rest of the concerts organized during that week. Many other songs / acts are missing, but there can only be ten. Enjoy!

sunset rubdown - winged/wicked things

[...]

And the pattern of flight is chaotic and blind
But it's right cause chaos is yours and it's mine
And chaos is luck and like love and love blind
The pattern of flight is chaotic and blind
But it's right cause chaos is yours and chaos is mine mine mine mine
And chaos is love and they say love is blind

But they're subject to hating us
Oh, just like the rest of us
Oh, we're just like the rest of us
They need the rest of us to stay alive
So thats not where confusion lies
That's not where illusions to the fact that the truth is just smoke in your eyes
Does lie

Confusion lies in which other wicked things do lie with
Confusion lies in which other wicked things do lie with
And chaos is yours
And chaos is mine
And chaos is love and they say love is blind

So I say oh I see now it's just smoke
So I say oh I see now it's just smoke
Oh I say oh I see now it's just smoke
Oh I say oh I see now it's just smoke
